Spring Start Checklist

Congratulations! We look forward to having you on campus in January. Before you arrive, we encourage you to complete the following items so you can hit the ground running when you arrive on campus.

  1. Review this checklist and all upcoming assignments and deadlines.
  2. Make sure you are regularly checking your Emory email address.
  3. Emory Essentials: Oxford Edition, (Spring Start) Canvas course opens.
June
June 1
  1. Math placement exam opens in Canvas.
  2. Placement exams open (chemistry, first-year writing, and foreign language).
  3. Name coach opens in Canvas.
June 15
  1. Mobility Credit Portal opens for students interested in this process.
July
July 1
  1. Submit AP/IB test scores to the Oxford Registrar's Office.
  2. For qualified students, participate in New Student Registration with the Department of Accessibility Services.
August
August 1
  1. Submit your final high school transcript to Enrollment Services.
  2. Complete all placement exams (chemistry, math, first-year writing, and foreign language) by August 1.
  3. Submit Letter of Consent (FERPA) form.
  4. Emory Essentials Oxford Edition online assignments are due in Canvas.
August 10
  1. Priority deadline for students interested in the Mobility Credit option.
August 23
  1. Deadline for completing Part 1 of alcohol.edu and Sexual Assault Prevention modules. (Instructions will be sent to your Emory email account when these modules open.)
September
September 10
  1. Late application deadline for students interested in the Mobility credit option.
October
October 1
  1. Submit required student health forms.
  2. Plan to attend a Group Course Planning Session.

  1. Registration for the Spring Start orientation program begins.
  2. Deadline to submit Discovery Seminar preferences form.
  3. Individual Advising Appointments with the Oxford Advising Support Center available.

  1. Application for housing and dining available via MyHousing portal.
  2. Deadline to complete placement exams (if not completed in summer).

  1. Deadline to submit First-Year Advising Questionnaire.
  2. Mandatory health insurance verification opens online via OPUS.
  3. Registration for spring 2025 classes (official times posted in OPUS) begins.
  4. Complete COFHE New Student Survey (avail. November 1-December 1)

  1. Deadline to apply for housing and dining in your MyHousing portal.
  2. Deadline to apply for an Oxford College parking permit via the Oxford Parking App.
December 22
  1. Housing assignments are expected to be available through MyHousing portal.
January
January 10
  1. Spring Start student move-in day.
  2. For students who participated in Mobility Credit process, this is the final deadline to submit mobility transfer credit.

  1. The Spring Start Orientation program.
January 14
  1. Spring semester classes begin.
