Spring Start Checklist

Congratulations! We look forward to having you on campus in January. Before you arrive, we encourage you to complete the following items so you can hit the ground running when you arrive on campus.

  1. Retrieve NetID and password
  2. Set up DUO authentication
  3. Update personal and family/supporter information on OPUS
  4. Log into and begin regularly checking Emory email
  5. Emory Essentials Oxford Edition Canvas Course, learning modules that need to be completed throughout the summer, opens
June
June 1
    1. All placement exams (math, chemistry, first-year writing, and global languages) open in Canvas
June 15
  1. Mobility Credit Portal opens for students interested in this process
July
July 1
  1. Submit AP/IB test scores to the Oxford Registrar's Office
    • We understand some test scores will not be released to students until after July 1, so we ask that students request for the testing organization to send scores to Oxford College as soon as their scores have been released. AP/IB credits will continue to be accepted after July 1. However, we cannot guarantee that requests submitted after July 1 will be processed prior to spring course registration. Please aim to have all scores submitted no later than September. 
  2. For qualified students, participate in New Student Registration with the Department of Accessibility Services

  1. Deadline to submit your final high school transcript and college transcripts for classes taken before summer 2024
  2. Deadline to complete placement exams (chemistry, math, first-year writing, and global languages) in Canvas
  3. Deadline to complete the Emory Essentials Oxford Edition Canvas course
  4. Deadline to submit Letter of Consent (FERPA) form 
August 10
  1. Priority deadline for students interested in the Mobility Credit option
August 23
  1. Deadline for completing Part 1 of alcohol.edu and Sexual Assault Prevention modules (Instructions will be sent to your Emory email account when these modules open)

  1. Late application deadline for students interested in the Mobility credit option

    1. Deadline to submit required student health and immunization forms 
    2. Deadline to submit Discovery Seminar preferences form (link to come)
    3. Registration for the Spring Start orientation opens
    4. Individual Advising Appointments with the Oxford Advising Support Center become available
    5. Large Group Course Planning session with the Oxford Advising Support Center become available

  2. Mandatory health insurance verification opens online via OPUS
  3. Registration for spring 2025 classes (official times posted in OPUS) begins
  4. Complete COFHE New Student Survey (available November 1-December 1)

  1. Deadline to apply for housing and dining in your MyHousing portal
  2. Deadline to apply for an Oxford College parking permit via the Oxford Parking App
  3. Deadline to submit EmoryCard photo
