Return to Oxford

Preparing to Depart London

As your London adventure concludes, we're here to ensure a smooth return to Oxford. We've partnered with IES Abroad to provide comprehensive support for your re-entry. Here's what to expect:

Pre-Departure Checklist:

A digital checklist will guide you through essential tasks before leaving London, ensuring you don't miss any important steps in your transition back to Oxford.

"Countdown to Campus" Workshops:

Prepare for your return with interactive virtual workshops covering spring course registration, housing, campus life, and more. These workshops are geared to help you re-adjust to campus life.

Spring Course Registration:

Meet with your London Liaison via Zoom for advising, learn about OPUS and course selection, and enroll in your spring courses. Informational sessions will teach you how to use OPUS for course selection, review course offerings, and utilize features like your OPUS Shopping Cart and Schedule Builder.

Spring Housing:

All Oxford Launch students are guaranteed on-campus housing for the spring semester. While we can't guarantee you'll live with your London roommate(s), you can submit a roommate request for Spring 2026. Details on spring housing will be shared in the "London Bridge" newsletter and Canvas.

Spring Semester Return

In the spring, experience Oxford College as your new home! We're committed to your success with a comprehensive re-integration plan that includes:

January Re-Orientation:

Reconnect with campus at our "Welcome Home" reception and re-orientation. Renew your connection with campus, learn about Oxford's academic culture, reconnect with friends, and discover how to thrive academically and socially.

London Ambassadors:

Shape the future! Apply to become a London Ambassador and help future cohorts prepare for their London journey. This is a leadership opportunity to share your experience and provide peer-to-peer support for future London students.

On-Campus Involvement:

Dive into campus life with organizations (don’t miss the Club Fair), volunteer opportunities (like MLK Day of Service), and on-campus jobs (check out the Student Employment Fair). There’s something for everyone, and we encourage you to get involved and make the most of your time at Oxford.

"Mind the Gap" Monthly Check-Ins:

Reconnect with your cohort, share re-entry experiences, and build community in our monthly check-in series. These sessions will help you unpack your London memories, navigate campus life, and stay connected with the unique community you built. Stay tuned for dates and times!
